The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research (MPI for Brain Research) in Frankfurt/Main is a vibrant research institution in the field of basic biological and medical research, with a focus on understanding the functions of the brain’s circuits. The Research Group “Memory and Navigation Circuits” led by Dy. Hiroshi Ito investigates neural circuits that are necessary for animals to navigate to a desired location in their environment. We are looking for a

Technician (BTA, MTA, CTA or equivalent) (m/f/d)

to join our group at 100% employment with a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2023.

The candidate will work in close collaboration with our international researchers. The main tasks will be histology, including brain sectioning and immunohistochemistry, construction of multi-electrode microdrives, virus injection in the animal’s brain, as well as experimental support of our researchers.

Your profile:

  • Professional training as BTA, MTA, CTA (m/w/d) or equivalent
  • Prior experience in handling of rodents as well as knowledge in neuroscience desirable
  • Good communication skills in English required
  • Basic German conversational skills desirable
  • Energetic, motivated and independent personality
  • Willingness to participate in animal experiments
