The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research (MPI for Brain Research) in Frankfurt am Main is one of the leading research institutes in the field of basic biological/medical research and deals specifically with the structure and functioning of circuits in the brain. The institute, which currently has about 300 employees, consists of three scientific departments, five independent research groups and several service units. The animal facility cares for rodents, reptiles, fish and cephalopods.

For the earliest possible date, the animal facility is looking for an

animal caretaker (m/f/d)
veterinary technician (m/f/d)

initially limited, deferment is planned.

Your responsibilities:

  • Animal care and breeding
  • Care and maintenance of the facilities used for this purpose
  • Use of the animal database
  • Hygiene measures and disinfection
  • Participate in animal experiments

Your profile:

  • Completed vocational training as an animal caretaker (m/f/d) or as a veterinary technician(m/f/d)
  • Experience with laboratory animal husbandry and handling of genetically modified rodents preferred
  • Knowledge in terraristics or aquaristics beneficial
  • High degree of reliability and sense of responsibility
  • Proficient in German
  • Computer and English skills
